The Flying Doctors Australia
In April
I returned from a 6-week production in Australia
flying with The Royal Flying Doctors of Australia.
A Fact Not Fiction Films production, it took my crew
and I around Australia to some of the most remote locations.
This production was made possible by Pilatus
(and many others) who sponsored a beautiful
PC12 aircraft (with a great pilot)
for the duration of the production.
The Flying Doctors Australia series is
currenlty in postproduction.

For the Flying Doctors working under extreme time pressure is a daily part of the job. Based all around the world they are an air ambulance service operating both fixed wing and helicopters to access otherwise inaccessible areas. In time critical emergencies where every second counts their job is to save lives. It is a dangerous job and it takes an elite team of pilots and paramedics working flawlessly as a unit to beat all odds against them. The operational arena of the Flying Doctors is diverse and no two jobs are ever the same. From remote and isolated territories and mountains to sprawling inner cities, not gaining access is not an option. They mobilise whoever and whatever it takes to clear a landing space for the pilot to squeeze into. And the clock is always ticking…
